We tend to think time is a linear process. Moving from A to B and so forth. Both chronological time, which seems obvious, and psychological time have been put in this context. But what if we zoom out a bit: does it still apply? It is as if you look at a distance you’d think that the earth is somehow flat but with a larger perspective we clearly see it is round. It is a bit of a jump to go from the physical to something like consciousness and draw parallels between them but lets see if we can look closer.
Some time ago I came across the Elliott wave theory and fractal geometry. Its main definition or ‘laws of the universe’ hold up on the following statement: Psychology moves ever from optimism/expansion to pessimism/contraction and back again in lesser and larger degrees. If you happen to have studied this theory for some time you begin to see that this statement has tremendous implications. The initial theory was launched by Ralf Elliott Nash and later on expanded by Robert Prechter and Benoit Mandelbrot. They are mostly used to explain stock market patterns through ‘psychological behaviour’ or ‘herding’ but also show how to observe recurring patterns in nature; like coastlines, crops, etcetera.
I consider both to be part of natural processes and movements of consciousness, human behaviour and nature. Even though we tend to think man has moved away from nature, is self-destructive, in disorder, etcetera., we still abide by ‘ laws of the universe’ and thus from a larger perspective there is order. To recap that by repeating: Consciousness, nature and human behaviour, moves ever from optimism/expansion to pessimism/contraction and back again in lesser and larger degrees.
If you look more closely into human psychology you can see this law in action. For example if you pursue pleasure – when it climaxes, it starts to turn into pain. Both physically the ‘pleasure’ nerve receptors start to get flooded, blocking out a pleasure experience, and a withdrawal process starts – and in the felt sense, psychologically, it starts to flip over. In stock markets behavioural patterns are even more apparent as it shows a conglomeration of mass psychology. Markets go up on optimism, hope, greed, expansion, expectations etcetera. and when exhausted turn into fear, contraction, protectionism, etcetera, marking a correction or turn in direction depending on the degree.
Social behaviour is best reflected in stock markets patterns or charts just because it is more clear-cut but the same principle goes for social behaviour at large i.e. social events, fashion, wars, peace times etcetera. This by-passes the theory that there is an elite ruling this planet and we are subject to their bidding. It doesn’t ignore its validity but rather includes the controller and the controlled viewing them together as one unitary movement. But lets not sidetrack too much. Consciousness is a cyclic polarity movement ever swinging from optimism/expansion to pessimism/contraction and back again in lesser and larger degrees.
Can we from here however zoom out even further and include and interrelate celestial movements and human psychology? In my view it would connect a lot of dots as to why climate is changing (and it is not because of the CO2 hoax) and where human consciousness is and is heading towards.
Long ago I came upon the book ‘the holy science’ by Sri Yukteswar. It explained the cycles of earth movement, in vedic terms called Yugas, mathematically. Describing that earth moves ever closer to a centre of the universe, Brahman, and then again moves further away from it. The closer is gets to Brahman a golden age starts on earth, human consciousness expands, abilities increase and when earth moves further away it descends into Kali Yuga or dark age with loss of memory, decrease in abilities, contraction. Sounds familiar? Another book comes from a slightly different angle but expounds the same thing. ‘The pleiadian agenda’ discusses how earth and consciousness moves through different energy bands or dimensions and that earth moves closer to a centre in the universe, ‘the pleiadian constellation’, and then further away again. The closer it gets to the pleiadian constellation it comes into the photon band and consciousness undergoes a transformation – expands, till it moves further away again – contraction, loss of memory. Climate change, affected by celestial movement and most directly by the sun from our perspective, and human consciousness are going through a change/crisis where a new paradigm is in creation at this very moment.
I hope this somehow fills in the picture of how fundamentally matter, psychology and celestial movement are interrelated and is subjective to cyclic universal laws of time and space. In other words: Movement of consciousness happens regardless of what we think as free will or choice. Is there something however that can operate simultaneously and/or parallel to this movement of consciousness that is not affected by time?
I will end with one of Nisargadatta’s statements:
The cyclic process of origination, sustenance and destruction is the very core of the world’s being. However more I may try to know, the same process must repeat. My inquisitiveness has come to an end.
